Jeroen De Lathouwer has extensive work experience in the fields of business development, key account management, and operations in the water and wastewater treatment industry. Jeroen started their career in 2000 as a Project Engineer at Aquafin, focusing on municipal wastewater treatment. In 2001, they worked as a Process Engineer at Aqua Technology Hanson, specializing in membrane technology. In 2002, they joined Waterleau as a Sales Manager in the Membranes division, where they later became Director of Operations India and a Board Member of a joint venture company. From 2008 to 2010, they served as a Key Account Manager at Hansen Transmissions. Jeroen then returned to Waterleau in 2010 as Director of Business Development, progressing to the role of Vice President of Business Development. In addition, they are the owner of npower bvba, offering various services related to water and wastewater treatment, renewable energy, and architecture.

Jeroen De Lathouwer obtained a Master of Science in Environmental Technologies from KU Leuven between 1995 and 2000. Jeroen'sfield of study included Environment, New energy, Renewables, Water, and Wastewater. In addition, they obtained a certification in Strategy in the Age of Digital Disruption with distinction from INSEAD in January 2023.
