David Fransen

David Fransen is the Chair of the Waterloo EDC, bringing 40 years of leadership experience across the public, private, and university sectors. They have held senior executive roles, including Assistant Deputy Minister at Industry Canada and Consul General for Canada in Los Angeles. David served as the Executive Director of the Institute for Quantum Computing and as Chief Strategy Officer for NGen, along with chairing the Waterloo Innovation Summit. They hold a PhD in History from the University of Toronto and are currently pursuing degrees at Canadian Mennonite University and the University of Waterloo.
