Richard Whitehead

Richard is a Chartered Civil Engineer with extensive experience of commercial, residential and retail sector building construction. He joined Waterman Structures in 1997, was promoted to Regional Director in 2010 and became a Board Director of Waterman Structures in 2017.

Richard has been involved in a variety of residential, retail and commercial schemes, including new-build, refurbishment and fit-out. His involvement has been from early concept work through to practical completion on numerous projects. He has a strong practical and technical background and is able to deliver the design of structural solutions that are appropriate in terms of economics, programme and buildability. Richard is experienced in co-ordinating and understanding the needs of multidisciplinary teams has led him to take on the project lead role for a number of major schemes at Waterman including Palmerston Court, Jersey International Finance Centre and One Bedford Avenue.

Richard has a strong practical and technical background and is able to deliver the design of structural solutions that are appropriate in terms of economics, programme and buildability. He is very passionate about mentoring young professionals in their careers and has taken a lead role in Waterman’s scholarship and intern programme.
