Vivek Shinde

Vivek Shinde has a strong background in engineering and technology. Vivek currently holds the position of VP of Engineering and India Site Lead at Watermark, where they lead and oversees engineering operations for the company's software solutions in the higher education sector. Prior to this, Vivek served as the VP of Engineering at Watermark from 2019 to 2021.

Before joining Watermark, Vivek worked at Avalara from 2006 to 2019. Vivek held various roles during their tenure, including Sr. Director of Engineering, Director of Technology (India), Manager Development, and Lead Software Engineer. Vivek was responsible for managing engineering operations, leading development teams, and collaborating with other business units to support Avalara's growth and product needs.

Vivek also gained experience at Ensim, where they worked as a Software Engineer, and at Extentia Information Technology, where they served as a Software Engineer and an onsite development engineer. Their early career started at Power Systems, where they worked as a Software Engineer specializing in assembly language development for 3D modeling applications in the architectural software industry.

Vivek Shinde completed a Strategic Management Program at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode from 2019 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Masters in Computer Science from Savitribai Phule Pune University between 2001 and 2003. In 2009 to 2010, Vivek pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Project Management from Sikkim Manipal University - Distance Education. Their undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Computer Science from Modern College, Ganeshkhind, Pune, which they completed from 1997 to 2001. In terms of certifications, Vivek has obtained various qualifications in areas such as design thinking, blockchain, business planning, DevOps, entrepreneurship, elevator pitching, and personal finance management from LinkedIn between 2019 and 2020.
