Matthijs Pontier

Matthijs Pontier is an experienced political figure and entrepreneur, currently serving as Fractievoorzitter for De Groenen in Waterschap Amstel Gooi en Vecht since March 2023. As a co-founder and Commercial Director of Idea Synergy, Matthijs has been focusing on developing a social media platform that promotes co-creation and citizen participation in governance since May 2018. Additionally, Matthijs is involved with Citizens Foundation Iceland, Meer Democratie as a board member, and serves as Treasurer for the Netherlands Drug Policy Foundation. With a diverse background in public speaking, consulting, and campaigning for various political positions including the Piratenpartij, Matthijs holds multiple degrees in cognitive science, psychology, and artificial intelligence from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
