Arend Koenes

Arend Koenes has a diverse and extensive career in legal and administrative roles, currently serving as a member of the appeals committee at the Raad voor Accreditatie since September 2021 and as a team leader in legal affairs at the Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport since March 2006. Additionally, Arend is involved in several appeals committees for various water management boards since January 2019 and works part-time as a lecturer at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, specializing in administrative law. Experience also includes freelance instruction at the Bestuursacademie Nederland and previous leadership positions in municipal administrations, particularly in environmental management and building regulations. Arend holds a master's degree in law from the University of Groningen, completed between 1987 and 1993.
