Niek Goorman

Niek Goorman is a seasoned GIS professional with extensive experience in various roles within the Geographic Information Systems field. Currently serving as Senior GIS-adviseur at Waterschap Vallei en Veluwe since June 2023, Niek previously held the position of GIS Associate Director at WSP, where duties included web map portal administration, data analysis, and environmental impact assessment support. Prior to that, Niek was a GIS Principal Consultant at Wood, responsible for delivering GIS solutions in infrastructure projects, and served as a GIS Project Advisor at Heijmans Infra, focusing on geographic data processing and visualization. Beginning a career in GIS as a Graduate GIS Consultant at Antea Group Netherlands, Niek gained hands-on experience through internships and assistant roles, solidifying a academic foundation with an MSc in Geographic Information Management & Applications from Utrecht University and another MSc in Economic Geography from the University of Groningen.
