Gerrit Dortland

Gerrit Dortland has an extensive work experience in various industries. Gerrit is currently the Director of International Business Development at Watershed Geo since March 2020. Prior to that, they owned DETEX from January 2018. Before owning DETEX, they served as a Project Manager for global projects at TenCate from August 2016 to December 2017. From January 2012 to July 2016, Gerrit was the Business Unit Manager for Water and Environment at TenCate Geosynthetics, where they handled sales and marketing management for geosynthetic-based water and environment products. Gerrit also worked at TenCate as the GeoDetect Business Development Manager from January 2006 to December 2011, where they introduced and marketed geotextile embedded fiber optic monitoring systems. Earlier in their career, Gerrit held managerial positions at TenCate, including the role of Benelux Manager for Geo and Sales Manager for Building Construction and Agro. Gerrit was also a Business Manager and Co-owner at Proximity Engineers, where they started up offshore programming services with East European software programming partners. Gerrit's career began in 1995 as an International Operations Manager at Tebodin Consultant and Engineers.

Gerrit Dortland completed their education in Business Administration and Management, General at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) from 1994 to 1995. Prior to that, they obtained a degree in Business Administration and Horticulture (Ing. (Bsc)) from Agrarische Hogeschool Delft (AHD) between 1988 to 1993. Gerrit also holds a certification in Prince2 Foundation from APMG International.
