Cre Brett Gerig

Brett Gerig has a diverse work experience starting with their current role as the Senior Vice President of Portfolio Management at Waterton since January 2020. Prior to this, they held various roles at Waterton including Vice President of Portfolio Management, Assistant Vice President of Portfolio Management, Assistant Vice President of Portfolio Accounting Management, and Portfolio Accounting Supervisor. Brett also worked as a Senior Portfolio Accountant at Waterton from 2009 to 2010. Before joining Waterton, Brett worked as a Senior Portfolio Accountant at Interra Development Partners, LLC from July 2008 to May 2009 and as a Portfolio Accountant at Interra Development Partners from March 2008 to July 2008. Brett began their career at Ernst & Young, where they worked as an Assurance & Advisory Business Services Senior Associate 2 from August 2004 to November 2007 and as an intern from January 2003 to March 2003.

Brett Gerig, CRE, obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting and Finance from The University of Toledo, where they studied from 1999 to 2004. In addition to their degree, they have also pursued further certifications in their field. Brett obtained the CRE (Counselors of Real Estate) certification in November 2022. Brett became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) through the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation in February 2013. Furthermore, they acquired the Chartered Global Management Accountant credential from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) at an undisclosed time.
