Kathy DeFoe has extensive experience in education and aquatic sports, currently serving as a Teacher Assistant in the Physical Education Department at Watertown City School District since August 2016. In addition to this role, Kathy has been involved with Swim Strong Aquatic Club as a Lifeguard and Assistant Coach for the Girls Varsity Swim Team since 2012, as well as coaching USA swim at Watertown Family YMCA since 1998, focusing on various age groups from 8 years old to 19 years old. Previous experience includes serving as Chief Lifeguard at the New York State Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation from 2006 to 2018, overseeing swimmer safety and lifeguard training, and assisting with the Modified and Varsity Boys Swim Team at Watertown City School District. Educational accomplishments include a Teaching Assistant Certificate from Jefferson Community College and an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Musical Instrument Fabrication and Repair from SUNY Morrisville Ag & Tech, along with a Regents Diploma with Honors from Argyle Central School.
