Dr. Patrick K. Sullivan, Ph.D., P.E. has a long and varied career in the fields of aerospace, engineering, information technology and life sciences. Dr. Patrick K. began their career in 1984 as the Founder and CEO of Oceanit, a self-funded research and development technology incubator that today employs over 160 scientists, engineers and professionals. In 1991, they became the Vice Chairman of the High Technology Development Corporation (HTDC). Dr. Patrick K. then served as Director of the Kauai Economic Development Board from 1995 to 2002. In 2002, they co-founded Nanopoint, the award-winning developer of cellTRAY Fluidics and Imaging System products. Dr. Patrick K. also founded Hoana Medical Inc. in 2002, which manufactures and sells a unique life saving medical technology called the LifeBed Patient Vigilance System. In 2013, they co-founded IBIS Networks, a spin-out from Oceanit Laboratories, Inc. Ibis' smart socket technology is based on a highly secure, scalable, and reliable technology stack.

Dr. Patrick K. Sullivan, Ph.D., P.E. obtained their Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1978. Dr. Patrick K. then went on to receive their Master's degree in Ocean Engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1981. Dr. Patrick K. continued their education at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and earned their Doctorate in Ocean Engineering in 1985. In 1995, they obtained their Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the State of Hawaii. Dr. Patrick K. also obtained their Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Government Of Guam in 2014.
