Phil Olson

Phil Olson is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in investment banking and business development. As a Partner at Waud Capital Partners since November 2016, Phil leads origination efforts and manages senior relationships within the investment banking and private equity sectors. Previously, as a Principal at Waud Capital, responsibilities included originating investment opportunities in Financial Technology and Technology Services. Phil also served as Managing Director at Financial Technology Partners, where Phil focused on deal origination and opened the firm's Chicago office. At William Blair & Company, Phil helped establish a leading Financial Technology investment banking practice, handling buy- and sell-side advisory assignments and managing teams. Beginning a career as an Analyst at Merrill Lynch, Phil developed strong financial modeling skills. Phil holds an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a BS in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
