Karly Hou

Karly Hou has a diverse range of work experience. Karly currently works as an Undergraduate Researcher at Harvard University. In 2020, they founded and served as the Executive Director of Wave Learning Festival, a nonprofit and online education platform that provided free courses and mentoring to thousands of students affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Karly has worked as a Product Research & Marketing Intern at Bubble, an Associate Consultant Intern at Bain & Company, and a Software Engineer Intern at The D. E. Shaw Group. Karly has also held leadership positions, such as a Case Team Lead at Harvard Undergraduate CBE and the Director of Programming for the WECode conference. Karly has also gained research experience as a Research Intern at Universidad Mayor. Lastly, they have engineering experience as a Software Engineer Intern at Two Sigma and as the Team Captain of the Gunn Robotics Team.

Karly Hou obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Harvard University in 2024. Karly also completed a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the same institution in the same year. Prior to their university education, Karly attended Gunn High School. In 2019, they obtained the Girl Scout Gold Award from the Girl Scouts of the USA.
