David Nikel-Shepherd

David Nikel-Shepherd has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. David started their career in 2014 as a Research Assistant at The University of Manchester, where they focused on scheduling for scientific workflows in the cloud. David extended a Java-based simulator to carry out computational experiments.

In 2015, David had a research internship at AWE, where they developed a machine learning algorithm to recognize "interesting" electromagnetic signals. David also experimented with novel functional-data-analysis techniques.

From 2015 to 2019, David worked at Biosite Systems Ltd as a Software Engineer and later as a Senior Software Engineer. Their responsibilities included developing software solutions for the company.

Since 2019, David has been working at Wave Mobile Money. David started as a Senior Software Engineer and later served as an Interim Engineering Director. Currently, they hold the position of Principal Engineer at the company.

David Nikel-Shepherd earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from The University of Manchester from 2010 to 2014. David has also obtained several certifications including GDPR Training from High Speed Training Ltd in 2018, Coursera certifications in Build a Modern Computer from First Principles, Cloud Computing Concepts: Part 2, Algorithms: Design and Analysis, Part 2, and Cryptography in 2018, 2017, 2016, and 2015 respectively. David has also completed the Coursera course Cloud Computing Concepts, Part 1.
