Paolo Azzola

Paolo Azzola is a seasoned professional in FinTech and digital banking with extensive experience as an advisor, investor, and executive. Currently serving at Wave Mobile Money since March 2024, Paolo Azzola has provided strategic support to banks, telcos, and startups since 2014. Prior roles include Chief Strategy Officer at Maya and Voyager Innovations, where significant fundraising and corporate development achievements were realized, including raising over $500M in equity. As Chief Operating Officer, Paolo Azzola led the inception and growth of PayMaya to a valuation of $1.4 billion, while also serving on various boards and as a mentor with Techstars. Educational qualifications include a degree in International Relations & International Political Economy from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
