Kai Carter

Kai Carter is an experienced professional in global program management and international development, currently serving as the Head of Global Programs at Waverley Street Foundation since May 2024. Previously, Kai held various roles at The David and Lucile Packard Foundation from 2014 to 2024, including Global Climate Initiative Director and Program Officer, where leadership in strategy development led to initiatives focused on early childhood nutrition and global agriculture. Additionally, Kai directed the Climate and Land Use Alliance and served as the Interim Initiative Lead for Forests, People, Climate. Early career experiences include project management at Impact Carbon and analytical roles at the US Government Accountability Office and Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Kai possesses advanced degrees in political economy, international relations, and development studies from prestigious institutions, including Harvard Kennedy School and Brown University.
