Amol Vagad

Amol Vagad has a diverse work experience in the field of autonomous vehicles and aviation. Amol currently holds the position of Senior Algorithms Engineer at GPR, where they are responsible for mapping and localization engineering. Prior to this, they worked at Visteon Corporation as a Perception and Path Planning Algorithms engineer, where they designed SLAM based motion planning for autonomous parking and developed pedestrian tracking using the Extended Kalman Filter. Amol also has internship experience as an Autonomous Vehicles Software Engineer at VSI Labs, where they worked on developing a Level 2 autonomous vehicle. Amol began their career as a Summer Intern at Air India Limited, where they gained hands-on experience in the Avionics department and major maintenance of Airbus models.

Amol Vagad has a strong educational background in engineering and technology. Amol completed their Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering from the University of Mumbai in 2016. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Minnesota, which they completed in 2018.

Before their university education, Amol attended N.G.Vartak English Medium High School, where they completed their primary education (SSC) from 1998 to 2010. Afterward, they enrolled in Annasaheb Vartak College of Arts Kedarnath Malhotra College of Commerce and E S Andrades College of Science Vasai Road Dist Thane 401 202, where they completed their High School education with a focus on science bifocal from 2010 to 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Amol Vagad has also acquired several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Amol obtained certifications in various topics such as Sample-based Learning Methods from the University of Alberta in January 2020, Fundamentals of Reinforcement Learning from the University of Alberta in December 2019, Introduction to Self-Driving Cars from the University of Toronto in October 2019, and Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization, and Optimization from Coursera in August 2019. Amol also achieved certifications in Neural Networks and Deep Learning from Coursera in July 2019, Introduction to C++ from Microsoft in February 2017, Mobile Robotics from Swinburne University of Technology in August 2016, and Introduction to Python for Data Science by Microsoft from edX in July 2016.
