Harpreet Walia

Harpreet Walia has over 20 years of work experience in various IT leadership and technical roles. Harpreet started their career as an Internet/Web Analyst and Oracle Specialist at ABF in 1998. From 1999 to 2003, they worked as a Senior Technical Consultant/Solution Architect at Hewlett-Packard, where they installed and managed clustered HP-UX environments and performed performance tuning for Oracle database environments. From 2003 to 2006, they were a Senior Information Security Architect/Technical Project Manager at Wells Fargo Bank, where they analyzed existing security policies and evaluated solutions available in the market. In 2006, they joined Smart and Final as Chief Enterprise Architect, where they led efforts to define Enterprise Architecture (EA) processes and conducted enterprise-level assessment efforts. Later that year, they joined Kaiser Permanente as an Enterprise Architect, and then later as an Approved Vendor in Kaiser Permenente IT. In 2008, they became a Senior Enterprise Security Architect at Pacific Gas & Electric, where they designed and implemented an enterprise information security strategy/program for PG&E along with compliance groups to fulfill NERC and internal audit controls. Overall, their work experience showcases their broad technical expertise in IT and security, as well as their leadership experience in enterprise-level assessments and defining EA processes.

Harpreet Walia completed their primary and secondary education at St Francis DeSales Public School in New Delhi, India from 1983 to 1995. Harpreet then pursued a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science at The University of Southern Mississippi from 1996 to 1998. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Data Security Sales Foundation and QRadar XDR Sales Foundation from IBM in December 2022. Harpreet also holds a CISSP certification, but specifics about the institution and year obtained are unknown.
