Julia Halberg MD, MS, MPH is an accomplished healthcare strategist and leader with a diverse background in public health, medical industry leadership, and community service. Currently serving as Executive in Residence at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management, Julia enhances the Medical Industry Leadership Institute through mentorship and expertise. Julia's experience includes roles as Chief Health Officer at XanthosHealth LLC, Principal Investigator for an NIH/NCI SBIR Grant, and various leadership positions at General Mills, where responsibilities included Vice President of Global Health Services and Chief Medical Officer. Julia has also contributed to boards for organizations such as Way to Grow and the MacPhail Center for Music, highlighting commitment to health and community impact. With degrees in Medicine and Public Health from the University of Connecticut and University of Minnesota, Julia combines scientific knowledge with strategic insights to advance health initiatives.

Way to Grow
We know that by giving every child an equal opportunity to succeed in school and life, we will close the opportunity gap, especially among those students most in need. To do that, we must first begin with parents. Children must be born healthy and stay healthy, while parents become active participants in their child’s wellness and education. With our unique and proven model, we use home visits and center-based programming to work directly with society’s most isolated children and their families. We help parents create an atmosphere of learning by teaching them how to access and navigate the systems that impact school and health, leading to greater parent engagement and self-sufficiency which, in turn, helps children find long-term, sustainable success in school and life.
