Luisa Javier, Ph.D.

CEO | Founder | Biotechnology in hygiene at Wayakit

Luisa Javier, Ph.D. has been working in the biotechnology and engineering industries for over a decade. In 2008, they began working as a Supply Chain Operational Excellence Leader for Gemalto, a digital security manufacturer. In 2012, they became a Senior Project Analyst for Informatica e Ingeniería Integral (INININ), an electric and mechanical engineering firm. In 2017, they were a Doctoral Fellow at KAUST, researching biofouling in membrane systems for water treatment. In 2014, they founded Sin Acqua, an ecological cleaning product company, and served as its CEO until 2018. In 2018, they founded Wayakit - Biotechnology in Hygiene and served as its CEO and Founder. In 2022, they became a Board Member and Director of Programs and Events for The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia (AmCham Saudi Arabia).

Luisa Javier, Ph.D. completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Industrial Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey in 2004 to 2008. Luisa then attended an exchange program at HEI - Hautes Etudes d'Ingénieur in 2007, before obtaining their Certificate in Green Belt Six Sigma Methodology from Arizona State University in December 2008. Luisa then went on to receive their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Environmental Science and Engineering from KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology) in 2009 to 2011, before finally obtaining their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Science and Engineering from KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology) in 2017 to 2021.
