Ben Mburu is the Chief Technology Officer at Wayapay. Ben was previously with the World Bank Group where they served as Co-Secretary for the Youth-to-Youth (Y2Y) Community. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating events and activities that promoted the community’s objectives, including the Youth Innovation Fund, Mentorship Program, Youth Voices, Global Youth Climate Network, and Global Youth Conference.
Before joining the World Bank Group, Mburu served as an Operations Officer and Public Sector Specialist with The World Bank. In this role, they provided analysis and technical assistance to government clients on a range of issues, including public financial management, economic governance, and human development.
Mburu has also taught as an Adjunct Professor at Southern Methodist University and Assistant Professor at Wiley College. Ben began their career as a Teaching Fellow and Research Assistant at the University of North Texas.
Mburu holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Kenyatta University and a Master of Arts in International Affairs from Columbia University.
Ben Mburu has a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Management from the University of North Texas, an MA in Theirtory from Tarleton State University, and a BA in Political Science and Theirtory from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
