Shmuel Koyas has a diverse work experience in software engineering roles. Shmuel started their career in 2014 as an Android mobile developer at NGSOFT. From 2016 to 2019, they worked as a Java software developer at Cadence Design Systems, where they focused on backend and frontend development. While there, they also created a proof of concept client-server interaction with REST API using Java and Vue.js.

In 2019, Shmuel joined Applied Materials as a Senior Software Engineer, specializing in backend development. Shmuel worked in this role until 2022, gaining valuable experience in the field.

Most recently, Shmuel joined Waycare, which was later acquired by Rekor. Shmuel served as a Senior Software Engineer and Lead in the Data and AI group. In this role, they collaborated with data scientists and AI specialists to develop efficient backend solutions, such as data pipelines, storage systems, and AI tool integration.

Shmuel Koyas has a strong educational background in the fields of computer engineering, operations research, and statistics. Shmuel completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Engineering from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, attending from 2009 to 2014. Following this, Shmuel pursued a Master's degree in Operations Research and Statistics at Tel Aviv University, where they are expected to graduate in 2024. Alongside their formal education, they have obtained various certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. These certifications include "Software Architecture: Breaking a Monolith into Microservices" from LinkedIn, obtained in August 2021; "Big Data in the Age of AI" from LinkedIn, obtained in September 2020; "Learning Java Threads" from LinkedIn, obtained in August 2019; "Programming Foundations: Design Patterns" from LinkedIn, obtained in August 2019; and "AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty" from Amazon Web Services (AWS), obtained in January 2023.
