Nigel Crosland

Nigel Crosland has extensive work experience in various roles within the engineering and science fields. Nigel started their career as an Experimental Particle Physicist at CERN, where they were a member of the DELPHI collaboration and had responsibilities in commissioning and operating the muon detector. Nigel Crosland also developed software for muon identification and Monte Carlo simulation of the muon detectors.

Nigel then joined Oxford Instruments as a Senior Engineer/Accelerator Physicist, where they led the commissioning of the HELIOS electron synchrotron and OSCAR superconducting proton cyclotrons. Nigel also conducted accelerator design studies for a synchrotron-based EUV light source and provided consultancy for the design of the DIAMOND light source.

Nigel Crosland later joined Vistec Lithography as a Team Leader and progressed to become a Senior Scientist, Engineering Team Leader, and Applications Group Manager. In this role, they managed the commissioning of high-end electron beam lithography tools and led a cross-functional engineering team dedicated to a leading customer. Nigel specialized in electron optics.

Following this, they worked at Nordson DAGE as a Project Leader, responsible for leading projects in the company.

Currently, Nigel Crosland is the Systems Team Leader at Wayland Additive, utilizing their expertise in leading a team and managing systems-related projects.

Nigel Crosland attended the University of Oxford from 1984 to 1990. During their time at the university, they pursued a degree in Physics and successfully earned a B.A. and D. Phil in the field of study.
