Advaith Sethuraman

Advaith Sethuraman is a Machine Learning Engineer at Waymo, specializing in Deep Learning for perception, since July 2025. Prior to this role, Advaith served as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan under Principal Investigator Katie Skinner from August 2021 to May 2025. Advaith gained practical experience as a PhD Autonomy Engineer Intern at Skydio and as an NREIP Intern at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, where significant contributions included designing a multi-view active perception algorithm for side scan sonar utilizing graph neural networks. Advaith also held positions at iMETALX Inc., TartanAUV as Software Lead, and completed internships at Onward Robotics, Intel Corporation, and Qualcomm. Advaith holds a PhD in Robotics from the University of Michigan and a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
