Carl Yang is a Software Engineer at Waymo, specializing in self-driving car technology since July 2019. Previously, Carl worked as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at Berkeley Lab, focusing on scaling sparse linear algebra on GPUs under the guidance of Aydın Buluç. Carl also served as a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of California, Davis, with research interests in GPU computing and parallel algorithms. During an internship at Amazon, enhancements to the MXNet deep learning framework were achieved, while at NVIDIA, Carl implemented a parallel graph clustering algorithm.
