Colin Braley

Colin Braley is an accomplished software engineer with extensive experience in computer vision and software development. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer and Tech Lead at Waymo since September 2015, Colin focuses on enabling autonomous vehicles to interpret their surroundings through 3D computer vision. Prior experience includes a role at Google[x] where Colin worked on computer vision algorithms and contributed to Android applications and distributed systems, alongside involvement with the Street View team and ReCaptcha. Colin's academic background includes a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Virginia, along with research on material measurement for computer graphics and development of multithreaded C++ programs. Previous internships and research roles have included work at Rhythm & Hues and the Virginia Tech Computer Graphics Research Lab, where Colin developed innovative algorithms and software solutions.
