Eric Klinefelter

Radar Software Engineer

Eric Klinefelter is a Radar Software Engineer at Waymo since January 2022, with prior experience as a Research Assistant at Michigan State University from January 2018 to December 2021, where significant contributions were made in the development of design methods for microwave and millimeter-wave radar subsystems. Eric served as the HD Mapping Lead and Localization and Controls Engineer for the SAE Autodrive Challenge team, working on various improvements in robotics and vehicle interfaces. As a Teaching Assistant for the course ECE 491: Creating Autonomous Vehicles, instructional materials and labs covering ROS and autonomous systems were developed. Eric also gained experience as a Lab Instructor at MIT's Deeptech Bootcamp and as an Electrical Engineer at TecNiq Inc, focusing on firmware development and schematic design. Eric Klinefelter holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University, as well as Bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University and Accountancy from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
