Feng Liu

Feng Liu is a Senior Staff Engineer at Waymo since August 2021, focusing on optimizing machine learning models for efficiency. Previously, Feng served as a Staff Engineer in the Waymo Machine Learning Infrastructure team, where the development of next-generation on-board computer systems for self-driving cars was a primary responsibility. Prior to Waymo, Feng was a Senior Engineer at Google Brain from September 2018 to February 2021, specializing in enhancing model performance for machine learning workloads using TensorFlow. Feng's career began as a Software Engineer at Databricks, where contributions included building storage, libraries, runtime, and deployment platforms for Apache Spark. Feng holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Princeton University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Nankai University.
