Han Deng

Han Deng is a Senior Software Engineer at Waymo since January 2021, focusing on the Semantics Foundation Model Team to integrate Visual Language Models (VLM) and Large Language Models (LLM) into automotive applications, including pre-training and model optimization. Prior experience includes a role as a Software Engineer on the Perception team at Waymo, and a Research Collaborator at Aurora, where methods for multimodal deep learning in 3D Object Detection were developed. Han previously interned at Waymo in Perception Research and Development, and held research internships at SenseTime, focusing on person re-identification and distributed modeling, as well as at Brown University, developing a visual-based blind navigation system. Han holds a Master of Science in Computer Vision from Carnegie Mellon University and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Queen Mary University of London and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
