Harish Chandran

Harish Chandran currently serves as the Head of Behavior Realism and Director of Engineering at Waymo, leading a team that models the behavior of various agents encountered by the Waymo Driver for simulation purposes. Prior to Waymo, Harish was the Head of Partnerships and Research Products at DeepMind, where responsibilities included setting vision and strategy for partnerships within Google. Earlier experience includes serving as the Head of Google+ Ranking and Recommendations at Google, overseeing stream ranking and recommendation systems, and conducting research at Duke University, where Harish completed a PhD and MS in Computer Science. Harish's research background encompasses areas such as algorithmic self-assembly and DNA nanotechnology, with over 30 publications and contributions during tenures at Microsoft Research Cambridge and WARFT India.
