Jonathan Stroud

Jonathan Stroud is an accomplished Software Engineer at Waymo since August 2020, with a robust academic background in Computer Science and Engineering, including a Ph.D. and MS from the University of Michigan. Previously, Jonathan held positions as a Graduate Student Research Assistant in Professor Jia Deng's computer vision research group at the University of Michigan, focusing on action understanding in large-scale video data, and completed multiple internships in the Machine Perception team at Google. As a co-founder and Organizational Chair of the Michigan Data Science Team, Jonathan contributed to the world’s first competitive collegiate data science team. Jonathan's early research experience includes roles as a Research Assistant at UC Irvine and serving as a Teaching Assistant, showcasing a comprehensive blend of practical and theoretical expertise in data science and machine learning.
