Li Tao is a Hardware Engineer at Waymo since July 2020, specializing in lidar sensor hardware and onboard algorithm design as well as system performance validation. Prior to this role, Li served as a Research Assistant at Stanford University from December 2013 to July 2020, where contributions included the development of innovative detectors for positron emission tomography systems, research on high atomic number photorefractive materials, and the establishment of optical test beds for material property analysis.
