Peter Pawlowski is an accomplished software engineer with extensive experience in backend development and database technologies. Currently serving as a Principal Software Engineer at Waymo since August 2014, Peter has also held roles as Senior Staff Software Engineer and Staff Software Engineer. Prior to Waymo, Peter worked at Google from August 2011 to August 2014 as a Staff Software Engineer, contributing as the backend tech lead on Google Hangouts. Peter began career at Aster Data from January 2008 to July 2011, where significant contributions included the design and development of SQL-MapReduce for scalable, distributed SQL databases. Earlier experience includes internships at Amazon.com and Intel. Peter holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Stanford University, earned between 2003 and 2008.
