Wayne Memorial Hospital
Wendell Hunt is a retired health care consultant who spent many years in agriculture before switching careers and moving to healthcare. Employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, his positions included Superintendent of Mayfield State Hospital, Dixmont State Hospital, Director of Hospital Services and Superintendent of Farview State Hospital in the Department of Public Welfare. Upon retirement he became a self-employed healthcare consultant and Nursing Home Administrator. Wendell is a Penn State graduate and a member of the Alumni Association. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. His involvement in the local community includes the Waymart Methodist Church, Waymart Masonic Lodge, and Canaan Township Planning Commission. He was also an adjunct faculty member of Lackawanna College and a member of the Institutional Review Board of the University of Scranton.
