Jamar Lockhart

Jamar Lockhart currently serves as the Director for Michigan GEAR UP since July 2021 and has been the Program Coordinator for Wayne State University College Day since August 2017, where responsibilities include advising students on post-secondary opportunities and coordinating workshops. Additionally, Jamar has been a Program Counselor I for Michigan GEAR UP at Wayne State University since August 2013, focusing on advising graduating seniors and alumni. Jamar's experience also includes serving as a Student Family Liaison at Detroit Enterprise Academy from August 2005 to August 2013, functioning as a social worker between parents and teachers to enhance student achievement. As a creator at JamArt Artistic Designs since July 2005, Jamar continues to showcase artistic talents. Jamar holds a Master's in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University and a Bachelor's in Communications from Oakland University.
