Susan Burns

Susan Burns is a seasoned professional in development and alumni affairs, currently serving as Vice President of Development and Alumni Affairs and President of the Wayne State University Foundation since February 2016. Previous roles include Director at Advance Capital from July 2007 to December 2016, and President of St. John Providence Health Foundations from July 2008 to January 2016. Burns also held positions at Wayne State University as VP of Development and President of the Wayne State University Foundation from 2001 to 2008, and as Vice President of Development at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra from 1998 to 2001. Additionally, Burns was Director of Campaign and Planned Giving at Interlochen Center for the Arts from 1998 to 2000. Academic credentials include a degree from Wayne State University, completed between 1980 and 1985, following graduation from Dearborn High School in 1980.
