Terry Short, Jr., AICP, serves as the Division Director for the Local Assistance Division at the Virginia Department of Transportation since May 2005, overseeing the management of various state and federal funding programs aimed at supporting locality projects. Prior roles include Assistant Division Director and Special Funding Program Supervisor, with responsibilities such as leading diverse teams, providing regulatory guidance, and managing project financial data. Additionally, Terry Short holds an At-Large position on the Waynesboro City Council and has previously served as Mayor and Vice Mayor. Other significant roles include Chairman of the Waynesboro Planning Commission and board member of Waynesboro Downtown Development, Inc. Education includes a Master's in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor's in Political Science from Northeastern Illinois University.
