Rose Zacharias

Rose Zacharias is a highly experienced medical doctor with a diverse background in emergency medicine, psychiatry, and hospital leadership. At Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care, Rose co-created a 30-bed unit in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and significantly increased bed capacity during peak crisis periods. As Past President and previous leadership in the Ontario Medical Association, Rose guided strategic operations while promoting physician wellbeing. Previous roles include Emergency Department Physician at Georgian Bay General Hospital, and long-term positions at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, where Rose led multiple clinical teams and initiatives to improve patient care and physician support. Rose's educational credentials include a Doctor of Medicine degree from McMaster University and a media and medicine certificate from Harvard Medical School.
