Wayside Chapel
Doug Taylor serves as the Chief Executive Officer of The Smith Family since August 2021. In addition to this leadership role, Doug holds significant positions such as Chairperson of the National Strategy for Volunteering Council with Volunteering Australia, Board Member at Wayside Chapel, and Committee Member of the Equity Advisory Group at the University of Sydney. Doug also chairs Warakirri College Limited and participates as an Advisory Board Member and Facilitator of Governance for Social Impact at The Centre for Social Impact. Other roles include Community Fellow and Sydney School of Business Advisory Board Member at Western Sydney University, and former Non-Executive Director at WorkVentures. Notably, Doug has a strong educational background with a Bachelor of Arts in Australian History from Western Sydney University and a Graduate Certificate in Management from the University of Technology, Sydney, complemented by advanced studies in nonprofit leadership at Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Wayside Chapel
Wayside Chapel has provided unconditional love, care and support for people on and around the streets of Kings Cross since 1964. Today, under the banner of Love over Hate, Wayside runs two community services centre, outreach service, mental health program, two community cafes, an Aboriginal Cultural Centre, Women's Program and GP clinic; programs and support designed to ensure that the most marginalised members of our community have access to essential health, welfare, social and recreational services, as well as offering a place where people are welcome just to ‘be’.
