Sam Baird

Sam Baird is an experienced professional in indirect tax management, currently serving as the EMEA VAT Director at Waystone since February 2024. Prior to this role, Sam held the position of Senior VAT Manager at Starling Bank from June 2022 to February 2024, and served as an Indirect Tax Manager at TP ICAP, Sumitomo Corporation Europe Limited, and Lidl GB, gaining extensive expertise in the field. Sam's career in indirect tax began at EY, where roles included Indirect Tax Advisor and Assistant Indirect Tax Advisor from September 2013 to August 2017. Academically, Sam Baird earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Philosophy from The University of Edinburgh and both a Master's degree (MLitt) and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Philosophy from the University of Glasgow.
