WBRU is a digital media company with studios in Providence, RI. It features 24/7 programming in alternative/indie rock (as WBRU) and hip-hop/R&B (as WBRU360). The business is a non-profit educational workshop run by Brown University and RI-area students. Brown Broadcasting Service, Inc. was established in 1962. WBRU broadcast on 95.5 FM from 1966 to 2017. WBRU launched alternative rock in 1988 and WBRU360 launched in 1974. Both are among the strongest radio brands in Southern New England.
