Kimberly Zaruca has extensive work experience in the healthcare and organ donation field. Kimberly currently holds the position of Chief Donation Officer at We Are Sharing Hope SC, where they are responsible for developing and enhancing donation systems and maintaining effective practices. Prior to this, they worked at Life Connection of Ohio as the Director of Hospital Development and Donor Family Services. Kimberly also held the role of Director of Hospital Services at the same organization. Before that, they were a Liver Transplant Coordinator at Texas Children's Hospital and a Pediatric Heart Transplant Coordinator. Kimberly also worked at Life Connection of Ohio as an In-House Organ Procurement/Transplant Coordinator. Additionally, they have experience as an RN at St. Vincent Medical Center, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Kimberly Zaruca obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the Medical University of Ohio at Toledo, where they studied from 1995 to 1999. Additionally, they pursued pre-med/pre-vet studies in Zoology at Miami University from 1995 to 1996. Presently, they are enrolled at Ohio University to acquire a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Health/Health Care Administration/Management, expected to be completed from 2021 to 2023.

We Are Sharing Hope SC is the federally-designated Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) for organ and tissue recovery services in South Carolina. We Are Sharing Hope SC actively provides organ and tissue donor services to over 80 hospitals throughout the state, as well as community education to more than 4.6 million people.
