Jeff Kolb

Jeff Kolb has a diverse work experience in the field of data science, engineering, and software development. Jeff is currently working as a Software Engineer at WeaveGrid since March 2023. Prior to this, Jeff worked at Twitter in various roles including Data/Analytics Engineer from July 2022 to November 2022, Data Scientist from September 2020 to June 2022, Data Science and Engineering Manager from December 2018 to September 2020, Data Science Manager from May 2017 to December 2018, and Data Scientist from May 2014 to May 2017. Before joining Twitter, Jeff worked as a Data Scientist at Gnip from September 2013 to April 2014. Jeff started their career as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Notre Dame, where they worked from an unspecified start date to August 2013. At the University, Jeff played a key role in the discovery and analysis of the Higgs boson as part of the CMS collaboration at CERN's Large Hadron Collider. Their work involved multi-dimensional, many-parameter model building, hypothesis testing, and error analysis on large datasets. Jeff also had leadership responsibilities, on-call duties, and managed computing resources.

Jeff Kolb earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering Physics from Taylor University, from 1998 to 2002. Jeff then went on to the University of Oregon, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Physics between 2002 and 2005. Following this, Jeff Kolb completed their education at the University of Oregon, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Experimental High Energy Physics from 2005 to 2008.
