Aalia Manie

Aalia Manie has extensive work experience in the legal and technology sectors. Aalia is currently the Head of Legal Solutions and Technology at Webber Wentzel, a position they started in November 2022. Prior to this, Aalia founded Nirvana Gallery in March 2021. From April 2019 to October 2022, they served as the Chief Operating Officer at Snapt. Aalia’s earlier experience includes working at Webber Wentzel, where they held various roles such as Partner/Consultant specializing in intellectual property and technology law, Senior Associate, Associate, and Candidate Attorney. Additionally, they served as a member of the Community Council at The Silicon Cape Initiative from November 2016 to February 2020.

Aalia Manie's education history includes a variety of degrees and fields of study. Aalia obtained a Matric Certificate from Reddam House College in 2004. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Business Science (B.Bus.Sci) (Honours) degree with a focus on Finance and Law at the University of Cape Town from 2005 to 2008. In 2009, they continued their legal studies by pursuing a Postgraduate LLB degree at the same university, completing it in 2010. Aalia then engaged in further studies at various institutions. At Harvard University, they focused on Intellectual Property Law through the CopyrightX program. Aalia also acquired expertise in Design-Led Strategy, specifically in design thinking for business strategy and entrepreneurship, at the University of Sydney. Additionally, they explored the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Lund University, completing a degree in AI & Law. Lastly, they pursued AI Strategy & Governance at The Wharton School, focusing on the field of Artificial Intelligence.
