Mario Borbas

Mario Borbas has extensive experience in procurement and strategic sourcing. Mario is currently the Director and Head of Global Procurement at Webflow since June 2022. Before that, they worked as the Head of Procurement at Marqeta, Inc from June 2021 to June 2022.

Prior to their role at Marqeta, Inc, Mario had a successful tenure at Zendesk. Mario started as a Strategic Sourcing Manager in September 2017 and eventually became the Senior Manager, leading the Corporate Services Center of Excellence team. In this role, they spearheaded strategic projects, improved processes, optimized software tools, and delivered KPI reporting. Mario achieved significant cost savings and favorable terms while negotiating critical ERP SaaS application renewal, resulting in $1.6M (55%) in savings.

Before their time at Zendesk, Mario worked at Apple as part of the Global Sourcing team, managing strategic sourcing and procurement responsibilities for Apple's global supply base. Mario had various responsibilities, including vendor management, pricing analysis, category strategy development, project management, and supplier development.

Mario also gained experience at Pratt & Whitney as a Sr. Procurement Analyst, Walmart Global eCommerce as a Supply Chain Analyst, Fresh Express as a Production Operations Specialist, and MINDBODY, Inc. as a Sales Associate.

Overall, Mario has a strong track record of achieving cost savings, driving strategic initiatives, and leading successful procurement and sourcing operations in various companies.

Mario Borbas holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Industrial Technology from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. Additionally, Mario earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Finance, General from the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst. Mario attended UMass Amherst from 2013 to 2015.
