Hilla Merhav Fine has extensive work experience in various roles related to linguistics, NLP, and project management. Hilla currently works at Webiks as a Data Product Manager in the NLP Team, where they are responsible for planning, executing, and validating procedures to collect and clean data for training NLP models in Hebrew. Hilla also develops roadmaps and supports multi-disciplinary R&D teams.
Prior to that, Hilla worked at the Israeli Association for Human Language Technology - IAHLT as a Linguist, where they built an innovative Hebrew Corpus Linguistics Infrastructure to support research and development in NLP and Speech technologies. Hilla formalized syntactic and morphological constraints and created a sophisticated validation system. Hilla also wrote the Universal Dependencies Annotation Guidelines for Hebrew.
Hilla also gained experience at Tel Aviv University as a Freelance Copyeditor on a project basis and at Transcom Global Ltd. as a Project Manager. Hilla worked as a Research Assistant at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem in the Language Learning and Processing Lab, focusing on language research and processing.
In their early career, Hilla worked at Unit 8200 - Israeli Intelligence Corps as a Translator and Language Researcher.
Hilla Merhav Fine completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology & Linguistics from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where they studied from 2015 to 2018. Following that, they pursued a Diploma in Editing from Tel Aviv University, studying there between 2020 and 2021.
