Bethany Afshar

Bethany Afshar is an accomplished health editor with extensive experience in editorial roles within the health sector. Currently serving as a Health Editor at WebMD since January 2021, Bethany has previously held positions as a Senior Editor (contract) and P/T Editor for Consumer Health Content at the Arthritis Foundation from August 2013 to May 2020. Prior to this, Bethany worked as the Editorial Director for Consumer Health Content at the Arthritis Foundation from April 2000 to May 2013, and as an Associate Editor at the American Physical Therapy Association from 1999 to 2000. Bethany began her career as an Associate Editor/Reporter at Waste Age Magazine from 1996 to 1999. Bethany holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Women's Studies from the University of Maryland, obtained between 1991 and 1995.
