John Whyte

John Whyte is the current Chief Medical Officer at WebMD. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Professional Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement at the FDA from October 2013 to August 2018. John was also the Chief Medical Expert and VP at Discovery Channel from April 2005 to October 2013. From April 2003 to April 2005, they served as the Director of the Council Private Sector Initiatives at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. John also served as the Division Director of the Coverage Group at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services from January 1998 to December 2003. Their previous positions also include Physician and Health Services Research Fellow at Stanford University Medical Center from January 1996 to December 1998 and Internal Medicine Resident at Duke University Medical Center from January 1993 to December 1996.

John Whyte completed a BA in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and an MPH in Health Policy and Management from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
