Emily Knowles enters her second season in 2021-22 as an assistant volleyball coach at her alma mater, Webster University.
The former Gorlok player lettered in volleyball for two years from 2015-16 and served as a team captain as a senior in 2016. Additionally, was named a Third-Team All-SLIAC performer, earned a spot on the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Team and was a member of SLIAC Fall All-Academic Team in 2016.
Knowles finished her career 13th on the school's career block assists list with 147 and 16th on the school's career blocks per set chart with 0.82. Her 80 block assists in 2016 are 14th on the single season school list.
In her two years as a Gorlok, she played in 219 sets over 64 matches and recorded 352 career kills, 59 career digs and 180 total blocks, including a team-best 102 blocks in 2016.
Knowles, who is from Belleville, Ill., and attended Mascoutah High School, began her collegiate career at Illinois Wesleyan in 2013 before transferring to Webster in 2015. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Management and Bachelor of Arts in Photography from Webster in 2017 and was a member of the Dean's List all four semesters at Webster, carried a cumulative GPA of 3.96 and was a Tau Sigma Honor Society member in both 2016 and 2017.
She currently is the owner and head photographer for Emily Knowles Photography and also works as a website developer at Children's Coalition of St. Louis and serves as a Business Development and Photo Editor at Alise O'Brien Photography in St. Louis.
In addition, Knowles has spent the past four years as the head coach of the Team Mascoutah Volleyball Club.
