Andrea Miller possesses extensive experience in the field of human rights and sociology, currently serving as the Director of the Center for the Study of Human Rights at Webster University since August 2008. In this role, Andrea oversees academic programs related to human rights, facilitates co-curricular activities, and manages funding for research initiatives. Additionally, Andrea teaches courses in Sociology and Human Rights and serves as a Faculty Advisor for the Human Rights Student Committee. With a Ph.D. in Sociology from American University, alongside a strong academic background including a B.A. from Truman State University and a M.A. from American University, Andrea has contributed significantly to the academic community through teaching and various advisory positions, including roles at American University and as a Visiting Associate Professor focusing on LGBTQ issues.
